Now I Got An i

Well, yesterday my life came one step closer to being complete. I received my first System i AS400/iSeries that I went through the processes of purchasing completely on my own. Quite the adventure to say the least, but I enjoyed every minute of it because I knew that when it got to my doorstep I would be able to sleep with it at night and caress it whenever the time felt right. Almost like when you get your first good paying job and you go and blow your first years gains on a new pickup (yes, I am guilty of that) – I have the same giddy feeling. So what better way to celebrate than a few pictures. Click the below links to see me commemorating the reception of my very own System i5.

First Kiss – Note: That mole on the side of my neck isn’t mine. I borrowed it from another person because somebody at Walmart told me anybody in a picture should have a mole on their face somewhere. When we were putting the mole on my face it just sorta ended up on my neck.
Sweet caress

What’s a System i if you can’t ride it!

If the System i were a fish out of water it would be very attentive like I am here. Notice the flames in my eyes – that isn’t red-eye, those are true flames of LOVE for my System i!!

Special thanks to the IBM’ers who assisted me: Laura Green, Jim Hudlow, Doug Mullis, Fabrizzio Ferreira Ganzerla

Stay tuned for an article in IBMSystemsMag.com that details the whole experience…

Aaron – absolutely funny! You look a little like Donofrio on Law and Order Criminal Intent.

    Hey Man,

I never knew you could do those types of things to an iSeries.

Now I know what you guys from Southern MN do in your spare time :-)

    Aaron,

I am so happy your got your i. Back here in the FrankenLab we are still on iSeries though we have progressed to V5R4 at least. Some day we aspire to be as up to date with our technology as you are!

    Congratulations!

The config shows DB2 mult sys for $25K and also DB2 SMP – did you purchase those? Did you have a specific reason for getting these products?
